    Abstract:
    Before 1985 some 54 Ordovician agnostidspecies and subspecies had been described fromChina.They were assigned to the following ele-ven genera and subgenera:Geragnostus,Trinodus,Pseudagnostus,Corrugatagnostus,Pseudoperonop-sis,Girvanagnostus,Geragnostella,Peziziopsis,Sphaeragnostus,Leiagnostus and Micragnostus.Most of them were based on inadequate materialand the range of morphological variation in theseforms largely unknown.After comparison,thepresent author tentatively retain 43 of the 54 spe-cies pendingfu rther material becoming available.They are now reassigned to the following ninegenera:Geragnostus,Arthrorhachis,Corrugatag-

    Abstract:
    Ⅰ.ForewordGenus Phoenicopsis one of the commongenera from Mesozoic floras in Eurasia.Based onthe external characters of leaves and dwarf shoot,it was established as a form-genus by Heer andclassified to the Taxineae of Coniferae(Heer,1876,p.48),with P.angustifolia Heer as type-species which was collected from the Middle Ju-rassic Prisajan Formation of the Irkutsk basin,Siberia,USSR for the first time.During the sameperiod,Heer also created P.speciosa Heer and P.latior Heer from the Amur River valley(1876,pp.112—113).Later,Nathorst(1897)describedP.speciosa from Spitsburgen,Krasser(1900,1905)established P.taschkessiensis Krasser,P.potoniiKrass.and p.media Krass.from Centre Asia anddescribed some Phoenicopsis from Jilin,China;Kryshtofovich(1910,1924)reported P.speciosa

    Abstract:
    Two new genera,Ciliscutellum and Sangzhi-scutellum,were collected from the Lower Silurianof western Hunan by Y.R.Liu and the writerrespectively.Ciliscutellum was found in associa-tion with Glyptograptus sp.,Monograptus sp.andophiuroids from a horizon consisting of dark greyfine sandstone and yellowish green shale,beneath which Pristiograptus,Monograptus,Rastrites and Climacograpius have been found,while Sangzhis-cutellum was based on Meitanillaenus flabellifor-me Liu,1982.Description of new genera and speciesFamily Thysanopeltidae Hawle et Corda,1847Ciliscutellum gen.nov.Diagnosis:Dorsal shield elliptical in outline.Cephalon semicircular excluding the genal spines,moderately convex.Cranidium subquadrate in
