    Abstract:
The“Pteridophylla”have been originallydistributed into groups defined by the general ou-tline and the venation of the ultimate foliar ele-ments(=pinnules).However,since the works ofGrand’Eury,Stur,Zeiller, the frond architectureis taken more and more into account to settle therelationships between the major groups of Pterido-spermophyta (=Cycadofilicophyta),the anatomi-cal information and the knowledge on the repro-ductive organs remaining rather poor and clearlyinsufficient as compared to the amount of theknown impression-compression foliage.
