    Abstract:
    The present paper deals with the material of fossil cephalopods largely col-lected by Mr.Y.C.Hs(?) and the writer in the spring of 1944,from the Tan-chiashan Coal-field in the Hsiangtan district,Central Hunan.It also includesthe specimens procured by Prof.C.Y.Hsieh in 1937 and described by thewriter in 1940 in a paper entitled “Upper Palaeozoic Cephalopods from CentralHunan”.These two collections were secured at two nearby localities in the

    A complete series of vomerine teeth of pycnodontoidea has been foundfrom the vicinity of Changtu(Sikang).It represents the first record of vertebrateremains in the Tibetan highlands.Order PycnodontoideaFamily CyrodontidaeGenus Tibetodus,new genusDiagnosis as given for the type species Tibetodus gyrodoidesSpecies Tibetodus gyrodoides,new species.Material:A vomer with the teeth nearly complete.Field No.C.3340.
