    Abstract:
The purpose of this paper is to illustrate and describe briefly the fossilremains disc(?)vered in 1951 by Messrs.T.Y.Tien and L.M.Yang from theShihchienfeng Series at the Locality Motzekou of Linyu district,N.W.Shensi.The question as to the geological age of this series has given riseto considerable diversity of opinion among geologists and palaeontologists formany years. The discovery of fossil plants from this series is therefore of consi-derable interest. The fragmentary nature of the fossils renders identificationof much of the material difficult and some of it impossible. In spite of this reason the size of the specimens rather then the state of preservation is genreally the chief difficulty encountered. In the meanwhile, it seems desirable to place upon record only those forms which have been determined with a reasonable degree of certainty. The remainder, of which there are a number of indeterminable fragments, will be reserved for a later report.

    Abstract:
During the course of the stratigraphical studies of the Taitzeho valleyLiaotung Province,N.E.China in April-September 1950,the members ofthe Taitzeho party were able to make a considerable collection of graptolitesin association with trilobites, brachiopods and ostracods from the CambroOrdovician beds. The graptolites, chiefly the Dendroids, seem to be entirelynew to science. They are derived from four areas along the Tzitze river, namely, the Yentai,Penchi,Hsiaoshih and Tienshihfu areas counting fromwest to east. The first one belongs to the Liaoyang district and theremainder to the Penchi district. The age of the lower Palaeozoic rocks ofthis region has not yet been definitely settled. The present discovery affordstherefore a considerable interest.

    Abstract:
IntroductionThe ostracods dealt with in the present paper were found in the Taitzehovalley in 1950 by Messrs.Y.Wang,Y.H.Lu,K.C.Yang,A.T.Mu,andJ.C.Sheng of the Institute of Palaeontology,Academia Sinica, and Messrs.S.W.Tang,C.C.Chiang and C.L.Chow of the Geological Survey ofN.E.China.The specimens were derived from the beds consisting of theyellowish green shales and thin bedded limestones at the following localitiesof Penchi district:1.Wee-Ning-Ying,east of Chien-Tun,2.Tou-Fang-Kou,west of Ying-Tze-Tun,3.Ho-Tee-Kou,4.Tien-Shih-Fu.between Sin-Ta-Pu
