Abstract:
Twelve species of Xyelidae (Insecta Hymenoptera Symphyta) are described from the Upper Jurassic Yixian Formation ofShangyuan Beipiao and Dawangzhangzi Lingyuan in western Liaoning Province China.These sawflies are assigned to8genera of4tribeswithin the subfamily Macroxyelinae with6genera12species recognized as new including A ngaridyela robusta sp.nov.A ngaridyelaexculpta sp.nov.A ngaridyela suspecta sp.nov.A ngaridyela endemica sp.nov.Lethoxyela excurv a gen.et sp.nov.Lethoxyelav ulgata gen.et sp.nov.Ceratoxyela decorosa gen.et sp.nov.Liaoxyela antiqua gen.et sp.nov.Heteroxyela ignota gen.et sp.nov.Sinoxyela viriosa gen.et sp.nov.Isoxyela rudis gen.et sp.nov.and Xyelites lingyuanensis sp.nov.The palaeoclimate isbriefly discussed here.
