[Abstract]
A new Permian brachiopod genus, Gruntea gen . nov., is proposed in this paper. The type species Gruntea grunti (Shi and S hen 1997) is reviewed and redescribed based on more and better preserved fossil material from the Selong Formation of the Selong Xishan (Western Hills) sect ion, southern Xizang (Tibet), China.
